Practical tips to bring your wellness business vision and purpose to life

Quick wins for Yoga Teachers, Coaches, Healers & Wellness Entrepreneurs

It’s a new year and the perfect time for getting clear on your vision and purpose for your wellness business and your life in 2024 (and beyond). It’s also a good time to refresh and reset your mission, your message and your marketing materials.

Making meaningful change takes time and intention...but quick wins help us move the needle of success forward.

Whether you have a website, social media accounts, an email list or a teaching platform, meaningful change takes time and intention but breaking tasks down into smaller bite-sized pieces means tasks are less overwhelming and making progress becomes more achievable.

Identifying a few key areas to update and improve, can make all the difference. And, it’s an easy way to build trust and credibility with your audience. When all your links work, your messages are consistent and clear, you’ll make it easy for your target audience to know what you do and how to easily connect with you.

Here’s a checklist of tasks to reset in 2024

If you have a website…

✅ Update the copyright to ©2024 in the footer or add a copyright if you don’t have one yet.

✅ Check all the links on your website to make sure they still work and they are still relevant.

✅ Make sure your contact page is up-to-date and it’s clear how people can contact you – Are your address, phone and email still correct?

✅ On each page, is there a clear call to action? (Sign Up, Read More, Book a Call, Buy Now, Learn More, etc.)

✅ Make sure you test all these changes on both a desktop and mobile, as you may find the images or layouts can get a bit skewed when you’re looking on a mobile screen. Poorly proportioned images or poor copy layouts and line breaks can make your site look messy and your prospective customers may get the impression that you don’t care about details or you lack professionalism.

✅ Check your Google analytics to see which are your highest performing pages. This will help you understand which are your most popular pages and where you might want to spend more time updating photos, copy, links, services, prices, etc. If you are using a platform such as Squarespace or Word Press, then analytics are built in and you should be checking them regularly to see who’s coming to your site and which pages they are landing on. See below diagram for my best performing pages.

Chat of most viewed pages on my website louisebartlett.com

This chart was pulled from the analytics on squarespace, where my website is hosted.

This diagram tells me that I have 488% more traffic on the page, A beginner’s guide to creating your perfect vision board than any other page on my website, so I need to make sure that this page has up-to-date images and copy, my links are working, there’s a clear call to action and I’ve included cross links to related pages to keep these people on my website. It means I might want to focus more energy on this page and try to provide more value or sell a product or service on this page.

My second most viewed page, Using Essential Oils For Hormone Support, discusses essential oils in menopause. This tells me that this topic is popular for women going through menopause and the relevant offers, of calls to action on this page include offering essential oil blends for sale and offering yoga for menopause workshops. I’ve also made sure that this page cross references other blog posts about menopause to keep users on my site.

My third most viewed page is my home page. I’ve made sure that users can access the blog posts from page one and two, as well as related services that align to those topic areas. Read on for more ideas.

Implement simple changes on your website to make a big difference

Maybe you are ready to refresh a few things on your website, like your messaging, your vision or what you offer. I’d recommend looking at your website pages in this order and consider swapping out some photos, updating the copy or keeping your services and pricing up-to-date.

Your Home page should clearly communicate:

✅ Who you are?

✅ What you offer?

✅ And, how you help the person visiting your website.

✅ Can they easily… contact you, book a service, find your offerings?

✅ Based on checking your Google Analytics from above, does you home page offer direct access to your most viewed pages? If not, they should.

Next, look at your Services or Products page(s):

✅ Are they up-to-date?

✅ Do they still represent what you offer?

✅ Should you increase your prices?

✅ Do the links still work, especially if they link out to a third party booking system, such as booking yoga classes, coaching sessions or purchasing courses?

✅ Do you need to refresh any images? It’s always good to keep your site looking fresh, but if you don’t have any new images, just re-ordering them can give the appearance of newness. While you can certainly use stock images (and there’s plenty of good free stock image sites) make sure that you do mix them with original photography to help with search engine optimisation (SEO).

✅ Is there a clear Call to Action (CTA) to… sign up, book, purchase, contact with questions?

Then, review your About page:

✅ This page should not be a resume about your life but rather how you can help the person who’s reading it.

✅ The key points you share should show your prospective customers how you’ll help them.

✅ Do you need to update the photo of yourself? If you don’t have a photo, then consider adding one or more as prospective customers want to see a real face they can relate to and identify with. Perhaps you might consider adding a short intro video to say hello so people can get a sense of your voice, your mannerisms and your energy.

If you write blogs on your website, then…

✅ Do you need to make any updates?

✅ Do all the links still work, especially if you link out to other resources?

✅ Do you have calls to action on each page?

✅ Are there cross links to other pages on your site? These things really help SEO and build credibility as an expert in your field, as well as make it easier to find what they are looking for.

Make sure your social media platforms are updated

After you’ve updated the key pages on your website, then you’ll want to make sure your message is consistent across other platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok, Pinterest, You Tube, LinkedIn, etc.

✅ Do your photos and bios match each other? When you have a consistent message and images across all of your media, then you build trust and credibility with your audience and it gives them confidence they are in the right place.

✅ Are your brand colours consistent across all your platforms?

✅ Check to make sure the links to your website, blogs or booking systems still work.

Make sure to book in time monthly (30-60 minutes should do it) to check your links and your stats to make sure they are all in working order.

I hope these productivity and good house keeping tips help you reset and revitalise your business for the new year. When you have taken some time to work on these administrative tasks, then you’ll know that your links are working, your pages are performing and people can easily contact you, book classes or purchase products and services.
