Recognising my post natal depression and the creative habit that helped turn it around
I struggled for a long time in silence. I was unhappy, I cried a lot, I didn’t feel like going out and often I didn’t even want to get out of bed. It was when my partner said to me “I love you, but you are depressed and you need help!” that I finally came out from under the covers (quite literally) and did something to help myself reignite the spark of creativity that had gone out, doused by the waves of tears and emotions that came with motherhood.
